Wendy ([email protected]) is a qualified driver who contacted me because she hadn’t driven since passing her test in March 1996. She asked me to help her rebuild her confidence and that I should treat her as if she was starting from the beginning again. She said “I have not driven for over 20 years. Passed way back then in a manual car but decided I would like to try automatic. I needed refresher lessons to give me confidence again. One of the traits which makes him a good driving instructor is that he understands the importance of being a safe driver who can follow the rules of the road. Because of this, he will help you understand this importance, and to t each you how to be safe, as opposed to only worrying about getting you to a level at which you can pass your test in. He also understands how difficult learning to drive can be. You can be safe in the knowledge that you can tell him the truth about how you are doing or anything on your mind that you may want to say, and that he will considerately use this understanding to teach you the best he can. He has dash-cams which you can use with your own SD card in, so you record your own lessons (video and audio), even your driving test. You can look back at your lessons afterwards and/or during your lessons with Peter to better understand what to do. I found it really useful to remember my manoeuvres".

Stacey ([email protected]) passed her practical driving test at Harehills Driving Test Centre in May 2017. Stacey said "Where to start.... *top quality driving instructor*. From my first ever driving lesson with Peter, I felt comfortable and at ease. Everything was explained so simple. His way of teaching is amazing. I passed in less than 4 months thanks to Peter and pushing me as he knew I could do i t. Very friendly from day one. Still miss the chats on our lessons. Chloe said "Cannot recommend Peter enough, as someone very un-confident about driving, having been told in the past 'driving wasn't for me' by a previous instructor I was really apprehensive to start again. After discussion through messages and during my first lesson we decided automatic may be the best option for me; in that first lesson I drove further with Peter than I had in months of previous lessons and I knew then Peter was the right man for the job! He is patience, has a very good understanding of what is required, so knowledgeable about his field. Jenny ([email protected]) contacted me in 2012 as a qualified driver who had resettled in Leeds with her job, requesting refresher lessons. She had passed her driving test some time ago, but living in London, had not used her skills. Jenny contacted me again in 2016. Jenny said "Although I passed my test some time ago, I hadn't driven since passing my test. I took refresher lessons with Peter in 2012. Peter is, in my view, an excellent instructor. He makes you feel very relaxed and takes into account individual needs - but he also keeps you focussed and will tell you when you have done something wrong (I did quite a lot at first). If you are new to driving or you haven't driven for some time and are looking to get back on the road, I would have no hesitation in recommending Peter. Peter has a number of very useful phrases which, even now, I remember when driving".

Mark said "I passed my test first timne round in an automatic car at Harehills test center. I have been through 3 driving instructrs and I think that peter is the best instructor from my experiences.I think this is a great place to learn to drive because Peter is very helpful and will adapt to your needs for you to be able understand the road better e.g. a better understanding of how the road works and a better understanding of the road and other road users. Also Peter will give you methods, that you would find most useful in doing your maneuvers foir example. Kerry said "I can't praise Peter highly enough having just passed my test on the first go with a miraculous SIX minors! I've always been an extremely nervous driver and was injured in a car crash at the beginning of the year. With all the nerves, I never thought I'd pass and was ready to write driving off as a lost cause! I couldn't have been more wrong. Peter read my learning style perfectly and was a relaxed, calming and concise teacher. He's got loads of great tricks up his sleeve that make driving make much more sense, and he will push you just as far as you need to be pushed. I had another driving instructor before Peter but felt I was not making any improvements in my driving and after failing 3 times I thought I really needed to find another instructor. I came back to driving after a 10 year hiatus after 2 failed tests in a manual car with BSM. Decided to try out an automatic as I'm quite nervous about driving and wanted a quicker route to passing. I can only echo what others have said about Peter, he's very patient (even with nervous wrecks like me behind the wheel!) and really gets you to think about all aspects of driving. His focus very much on preparing you for your driving life rather than just coaching for a test. His manner is firm but fair as another reviewer has said but always delivered in a cheery manner. The best compliment I can pay him is that he got me passed first time (with him) and I never, ever thought I could do it".

Alec said "Peter Scott is a great instructor and it is clear he tailors his instruction to individual students needs. I came from overseas with 14+ years of driving experience, but only in an automatic. He took my previous road experience into account during our lessons and helped me concentrate on the things I needed to work on (especially clutch control). Sabiya said "I passed my test at Harehills in Leeds and started taking lessons with Peter Scott in March and passed in June 2014. I did have a few lessons and didn't pass first time due to getting really nervous myself, but I rebooked and den passed second time with Peter's help. From the first lesson I had I knew n felt as tho I would learn a lot from Peter Scott as he was my second instructor. He was really helpful n calm, he put the trust in me just after the second lesson to go on main roads when other instructors will just drive u to a quiet area. Peter Scott doing that I believe helped build up a lot of confidence and the car was very easy to drive as it was higher than normal cars. I found it really easy. Peter was a superb driving instructor, having previously gone through large driving school franchises I found that the quality and care taken by Peter was second to none. In addition to this, the car that you learnt in is a Mercedes, which had very smooth clutch control and was easy to drive. I had previous lessons with another instructor who certainly did not match up to Peter in terms of skill or patience, and after having lessons with Peter I became a much more skilled and confident driver. I have already recommended Peter to my flatmate, and she is now well on her way to passing her test as well.

After an initial assessment he suggested a fortnight long intensive course, and booked me in for my test. The longer (3 hour) lessons suited me perfectly, and I passed first time. Learning to drive is a major part of someones life, and we often feel we need to pass our test as soon as we can, however Peter does more than make you pass your test...he teaches you to be a safe driver for the rest of your life, its more than reversing around corners and turning the car around in the road, its about road safety and awareness aswell as being able to manouvre the vehicle!! He he cleverly varies his teaching style to suit your needs and will come up with creative ways of making you remember all the neccesary procedures...for example I often didnt use my mirrors when I needed to, so he cleverly adapted every left/right turn to him saying "at the end of the road can we have a mirror check and a left turn"...which still rings in my head everytime I drive, and it makes me do it. All in all i couldn't have asked anymore from him, friendly, reliable and patient!! After passing 1st time it worked for me!!! 26th Jun 2008

I tried two different driving instructors, before Peter, who seemed ok but I didn't know any different. I called Peter from an advert I found on the Internet not knowing what to expect and he was very polite, professional and accommodating. I found him to be an excellent teacher, which is exactly what you want. I not only learnt how to drive to pass my test but also how to drive for the long term, which is invaluable. In terms of cost he was great 'value for money' I was always worried with my old driving instructors were putting off my test so they could get more money from me but I didn't feel this at all with Peter.
